This project is a venture in the field of sensory ethnography. It’s also a part of a larger project, that of my thesis. Accordingly, it fits outside of the typical categories of audio.video.text.image. The creation of this workshop has been an attempt and interrogation into what it means to do anthropology in the sensory, but more specifically, in the olfactory. Through this workshop, I ask: What stories can be smelled? Why/is this different from other ways of telling stories? How does smelling change how we listen, or what we hear?
